My dear thanks to the collector of my works, adding this one as well.
The light in this work is very diffuse, soft and there isn’t a focus on the light source. The vegetation in the foreground is a bit like an audience observing the view and the entire oil is a bit dreamy.
This scene is a portion of a photo taken by Rainey, the recently deceased daughter of my cowboy friend. I didn’t know it before, but she was a good photographer and it compelled me to make this oil to honor them both.
It’s a view from a ridge and beyond that, the larger hills and the open sky for us all.
